URBAN

We are deeply knowledgeable experts in the construction of custom, high-end homes in San Francisco, with a senior team offering you experience amounting to over 120 years of craftsmanship and project management in the city.

Collaboration

Engaged, constructive, collaborative teamwork is essential for a successful construction process. We put a great deal of energy toward making sure you have an excellent team in place to support your project.

With expertise from our long history of building homes in the city, combined with that of your architect, engineers, geotech and other consultants, we guide your project toward the right means and methods for its site condition—and toward realizing your design and intent.

Expertise

Experienced with all the idiosyncratic jobsite conditions you may encounter in the city—soil conditions, planning requirements, easements, zero lot lines, shoring challenges—we provide you as much information as possible early on to facilitate your decisions about scope, design, budget and other factors.

We leverage this historical data for your project in order to anticipate challenges and respond intelligently when surprises occur, and to streamline your overall construction process. Having this expertise also helps us strategize how to keep the neighboring homes sound.

Care

Every aspect of building your project is genuinely important to us, and we devote our full attention to its success. While the beginning of construction is inspiring, and the evolution of form and finish is exciting, we find the greatest exhilaration comes at the moment we present you with the result.

We have been entrusted with your vision and investment of time and energy, and honor that responsibility with a tireless commitment to your satisfaction at job close-out, and for years to come.

COW HOLLOW

San Francisco, CA

This project combined a careful remodel of the original Craftsman house, with the addition of 2,090 sq. ft. of new living space. Structural upgrades required a complete footing replacement and lowering the basement floor level.

The new rear of the house is clean and modern, constructed of Ipe’ wood, Bluestone and architectural concrete. We installed two levels of steel windows and doors on structural steel frames, and new decks with glass guardrails featuring concealed fasteners.

Dijeau Poage’s work was meticulous and well executed. We worked well with Andy and James, who are experienced with complex, problem-solving, above and beyond other builders, and personally involved during the process.

Articulate and forthright, it’s evident that they have great respect for the craftsmen doing the work, and can be trusted with the unforeseen things that happen during construction. We love the way our house fits our family.
